So yeah, I'm using bold outline text to indicate spellcomps (so i can sort them) and it's not saving the outline typeface. I finally figured out how to use the 'replace with this text:' too...you gotta gag the original, and then replace it. Killer! but very dangerous... |

This is not too big of a deal, really. I know the universal prefs live in the file 'Savitar 2.0 Prefs' so I'm making a habit of just backing up this file every time I muddle with universal trigs. The stuff I lost is ok because it was all gummed up with old trigs I'd played with and were mildly helpful but they screwed my speed from being so bloated with useless but pretty regexes. Mainly I'm trying to bone up on knowin' regexes so anyway it's not a real problem any more. Jay can I just delete this thread since it's pointless now? Or can you? |

My 867MHz PBG4 just locked up while Savitar 1.4.3 and Firefox 3.5.2 were running and I force-shut it down and then booted it and when I opened savitar again I'd lost all my ansi colors, so I turned ansi on and off in the mud I play (Alter Aeon, top of the list in the world picker) and saved, quit, opened my char file again, got ansi working again as it should and then I discovered I'd lost all my universal triggers. I think you definitely need to add some sort of way of backing up the universal triggers, Jay, perhaps a way to export them to a file and then another way to import them in case of disasters like this one because I had a master list of hundreds, perhaps over 1000 trigs of stuff for each of my characters on Alter Aeon. (Perhaps it was the sheer size of the file which caused my machine to lock up, it would take, i don't know, 30-45 seconds to save the file whenever I made changes and save it) Spell/skill colorization, speedwalks, everything. Is there any way to recover these trigs? |

I've seen this happen before, the problem you're describing. it caused me to remove any vowels from my macro names (so that whatever I was typing didn't accidentally conflict with a macro name, prompting the software to produce one of those 'quick-tip' floating boxes of text), although I'm not sure that solved the problem, but after an update to the software it stopped happening to me. I can't think of anything else on it at the moment but rest assured if something comes to mind I'll be sure to fill you in on it. I thought it was a bug that was fixed with a release a few years back. Also I'm on a PBG4 running 10.4.11. (Backup machine since my G5 bit the dust, but that was also running 10.4.11.) |

I downgraded to 1.4.3 and it works as intended; I'd like to move back up to 1.5.1 but this'll do fine for now, it seems. |

Getting the prompt when I logged into my usual mud today that there was a new version of Savitar available was nice, however it froze my window with the spinning wheel and forced me to quit the app... not force quit, apl-q worked (I think, it was a few hours ago but I don't recall bringing up the 'force quit' menu.) The next problem is trickier and makes me wish I hadn't deleted my copy of 1.5.1: I have a trigger, simply: [input] [line starts with] [case sensitive] c $$spll So that whatever spell I cast becomes the variable held by %%spll There's nothing in the reply box because it still sends the command to the mud, it just uses whatever spell I cast to fill the variable so it can be cast again should I fail it. I've had it for years and it works fine, exactly how I want it to, so that if i fail casting it, then the following line 'You fail to cast the spell.' triggers 'c %%spll' Anyway, when I type c fly or cont[inual light] or any other spell, nothing happens. If I uncheck that trigger in my trigger window and type it again, it casts fine but it doesn't set the variable to the spell I cast. So I'd appreciate it if you could make Savitar151.zip available for download so I can mud as usual while you fix the problem. I wish I still kept back-ups of older versions, i stopped doing that after years of filling up CDs with old software 'just in case.' Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, Jay. |

Not sure what to do about this, but after checking the 'Substitute it with this text...' box at the bottom of the 'Matching' pane in an edit trigger window, I can't get it to work. I'm wondering what I'm missing. I brewed a potion on this mud and then identified it, it said 'Spell: clear thinking' so I drank it, of course since I don't have the spell 'clear thinking' memorized, under my score it reads 'You feel smarter than usual...' without actually giving me the name of the spell (which is what I expected from the mud I play, I just wanted to mess with this substitution. Why can't I get it to work? Do you have to use regexes to find/replace entire lines? |
