Sorry for the late reply, but if you're on a MUSH with PennMUSH 1.7.7 or higher, there's an IDLE command (all caps). Set Savitar to do ##task 130 IDLE

The IDLE command on PennMUSH keeps your router/client active but doesn't spam your screen and doesn't reset your idle time to 0, so you will look idle to everyone.

Mine crashes if more than 4 windows have been opened and then shut down.

QUOTE (rowanflowers @ Apr 10 2004, 06:37 PM)
Since switching from DSL to broadband, I seem unable to idle for 15m without completely freezing on a MUSH. As a wizard, builder and long poser (sorry) this hasn't been the most convenient "new feature" of broadband.

This is a firewall issue that isn't solvable except by what the guy said. Set a pinger.

PennMUSH has IDLE for just this purpose. If not, I just use ##task 600 think %b

This has actually been a bug for a long time, and I miss having it work. The autoreconnect (for worlds that don't respond or are unreachable) does not actually do so.

I keep the window for the unreachable world I'm attempting to connect to in the background, so only having it work when it's the front window makes no sense.

Please oh please, make it work right again. ohmy.gif

I have an older iBook (G3 Power PC with 320 MB) and running 10.1.5. It doesn't delay on the sounds, but it does delay on the voices. I have it set to 'speak' to me.

I just pretty much got used to it.

Still no sign of it crashing here, and I even did something dumb, which caused a whole spamload on myself. tongue.gif

Looks good so far, although I think that the 'autoreconntor' doesn't work if the window of the MUSH that's unreachable is one of the background ones.

I think what you can do is grab your prefs in a text file (they should be readable). Save that as something else, somewhere else. Then, when you re-start Savitar from scratch, get the new Prefs 2.0 and add in all the stuff that says TRIGGER and WORLD. It won't be easy, and I can't guarantee it'll work. :/

I got an email back from Jay, which began with 'Eek', so I think there's some kind of echo trouble.

I went back to using 1.1.4, which is doing fine. All my OSX Savitar versions are totally shot. He says he'll try to put out 1.3b8 as soon as he can. I sent him the stuff he asked for, so I hope it helps.

This was odd. I downloaded 1.3b7, started it up and the window came up with a white bottom of the screen (where you type text in). I tried a few times, and still no good. Then, I attempted to use much older Savitar versions and it still does that. I can't get Savitar to let me into any worlds. blink.gif

Something must have happened between last night's use of 1.3pre-2b7 and 1.3b7.

I have a firewall that does the same thing. 10 minutes and wham. Not sure what MU*s you're on but PennMUSH 1.7.7p13 and higher has an IDLE command that you can use (instead of ##task <second> Think <whatever>) and it will keep you from being routered out while not changing your idle time.

I'm into the Hero System/Champions RPGs, so I play on the 2 superhero MUSHes that use those. Occassionally, I'll go on Treyvan (D&D), or a Shadowrun MUSH. I also hang out on M*U*S*H and (gasp) 8BitMUSH (those are build/code/social).

I love Savitar. Been using it since 1.0. smile.gif
