possible bug?, carriage returns being inserted b4 vars Options

I'm not sure what to do about this; I somewhat-understand the $$ and %% commands, but what is ## for?

I'm having problems storing variables for use and re-use. The thing that baffles me is the older ones I created still work, but now grouptells and such are having a carriage return being inserted before the variable (the teammate's name) so when I respond via trigger to cast a spell on someone, the carriage return cuts off the command before the target is named, i.e. i end up casting on myself or not casting at all.

Any help? Please?
