substitute text, Trouble getting substitute text to work Options

Hi there

New to Savitar, so if there is an answer to this, please point me in the right direction.

I have been playing with triggers and macros (the reason I paid for Savitar, its the best at these I have seen for MacOSX, after being used to zMud...).

I can't seem to get the substitute text to work.

What I want to do is to set up a series of triggers to replace the response I get from a glance.
That is, I want to replace, for example, the mud response of 'leaking guts' with one that says something like 'leaking guts (70-79%)' (or similar).

I can get the trigger to recognize the text from the mud (beep upon recognition, for example), but not to actually replace what I see.

Any advice, and am I correctly understanding what this function is actually for?
