I just want a map recorded of wherever i go, even an acii one would be better than nothing, but a map that records every area and puts it on there with optional flags for waypoints, entrances to areas, and area flags that you can label. it would also be super cool if you could click on an area and it speedwalks you there, but thats just a dream. i think an automapping feature is completely plausible. ideas or comments?

The problem with that feature is that 1. you have to assume that exits are 2-way exits, which lead back to the same room from which you've entered. This is not always the case, or 2. every time you enter a room, you would have to walk back to verify that they rooms have a 2-way entrance between them.
Also, there would be problems denoting differences in levels/floors. It's not as easy as you may think it would be to implement a mapping function like this. |

Well, this is a non-trivial thing, certainly but it's hardly rocket science.
zMud for windows has had this feature for some time. I would suggest taking a look at it. As far as non orthogonal exits (e.g. in the case that going North from room A to room B, and then going back south, doesn't take you to room A) it's just a matter of how the database is set up. |
