I can't speak for everyone else using Savitar, but I love it and I've been using it forever. I've recently upgraded to a MacBook Pro, and sad to say, Savitar is the only non-Universal app I run regularily. I can't say that there's a huge issue with running it emulated. It works completely fine and fast enough for what it needs to do. Startup times and drawing menus are a little sluggish, the icon may bounce up to 10 times before starting. But Rosetta does use system resources when it's running, and an app like Savitar has always used minimum resources. A universal binary would certainly be welcome.

I'll take the lack of criticism or opposition as confirmation that the next version of Savitar will be universal. Thanks!

Universal binary would be awesome, or done in JAVA so it couid be cross-platform. And the auto-logging of the OS 9 version would be wonderful.

Well, I usually don't talk much about stuff that isn't released yet, but..

at 12:37 AM EST August, 12th, 2006. A fully Intel native version of Savitar launched and ran for the first time...

... those of you interested in getting on the Savitar version 1.4 alpha test list, please email me privately. There should be something testable within the next couple of weeks.

I'm happy to say that Savitar 1.4, which is a Universal Binary, is progressing nicely and is ready for testing. Please email me privately if you'd like to be on the test team.
